Jurassic Park (1993) - Welcome to Jurassic Park Scene (1/10) | Movieclips

Jurassic Park movie clips: />BUY THE MOVIE: />Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: /> CLIP DESCRIPTION: Hammond (Richard Attenborough) leads the visitors, including Dr. Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Sattler (Laura Dern), to see their first live dinosaur - the Brachiosaur. FILM DESCRIPTION: Steven Spielberg's phenomenally successful sci-fi adventure thriller is graced by state-of-the-art special effects from the team of Stan Winston, Phil Tippett and Michael Lantieri from George Lucas's Industrial Light & Magic. The film follows two dinosaur experts -- Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Ellie Sattler Laura Dern) -- as they are invited by eccentric millionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) to preview his new amusement park on an island off Costa Rica. By cloning DNA harvested from pre-historic insects, Hammond has been able to create living dinosaurs for his new Jurassic Park, an immense animal preserve housing real brachiosaurs, dilophosaurs, triceratops, velociraptors, and a Tyrannosaur Rex. Accompanied by cynical scientist Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), who is obsessed with chaos theory, and Hammond's two grandchildren (Ariana Richards and Joseph Mazzello), they are sent on a tour through Hammond's new resort in computer controlled touring cars. But as a tropical storm hits the island, knocking out the power supply, and an unscrupulous employee (Wayne Knight) sabotages the system so that he can smuggle dinosaur embryos out of the park, the dinosaurs start to rage out of control. Grant then has to bring Hammond's grandchildren back to safety as the group is pursued by the gigantic man-eating beasts. The kids of today will never know what this scene felt like. Seeing this for the first time was truly amazing! There was never a movie like this before with such amazing CGI. Now these kids see this stuff all the time and it doesn't mean anything. This was original and truly amazing!!

0.35 My jaw dropped when I saw this for the first time. I was seven years old. The film was re-released in 3D a few years ago, and when this music started, I started crying. My God I love this movie.

2:23 Just wait for that moment when it will become a reality one day. Maybe *not* in this lifetime but surely somewhere in the future. I hope future generations will look back and see where it all began, right here in 1993. Simply amazing.

This scene is magic. Regardless of my mindset while watching this film, this scene always brings out the kid in me that would absolutely love a real Jurassic Park. I can't think of many other pieces of media that give me that same sense of wonder that this particular scene does. Also, that John Williams score perfectly captures the wonder and scope of this scene. All of it comes to a climax with, "Welcome... to Jurassic Park."
Darren Cayabyab
This movie will not be forgotten.

As many of us did, I grew up watching this movie and its 2 sequels religiously. Now 17, I watched this movie for the first time in over 5 years with my girlfriend, who had never seen it before. All through the movie I reminisced and remembered how much I loved this movie, but I wasn't ready for this scene. When the theme begins to play ( 0:32 in this clip), I was hit with a massive wave of nostalgia and I cried tears of sheer joy for about 5 minutes. In that moment I realized that Jurassic Park is and always will be my favorite movie ever. There is something about this scene in the combination of pristine music and great cinematography that hit me like a freight train, and I had never felt that way about any film in the past. Even now when I re-watch this clip, listen to the theme song (at 0:47 in the song) or even talk about this scene, I begin to tear up because of the beautiful masterpiece that this movie is. Cheers to you John Williams, Steven Spielberg and the Jurassic Crew :)

I don't think people understood just how powerful this scene was. Growing up as a kid in the 80's, dinosaurs where a huge fantastic fantasy to us, back then (that and Ninjas, lol). Spielberg captured our dreams perfectly! I was fifteen in 1993 when I saw this in the theaters and my heart skipped at this scene.

First comment (posted in late 2016): Boy, I hope this movie (Jurassic Park) will get into the USA National Film Registry someday soon. Second comment (posted on 12/12/2018): Yes, finally! After 15 years of eligibility, Jurassic Park has rightfully taken its long awaited spot in the USA National Film Registry. So many good production qualities seen throughout this movie such as the musical score, the landscape cinematography, sound noises, dinosaur animatronics, the overall directing talent of Steven Spielberg, and the early tecnological use of computer-generated imagery with the corresponding visual effects make it 100% genuinely worthy of being included with all other entries. Thank you to any individuals who have nominated Jurassic Park since 2003, and much gratitude to the National Film Preservation Board (NFPB) for allowing it to be added. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Had they only created the Brachiosaurus and other plant eaters, JP would have been a HUGE SUCCESS. But no, they had to bring in the T-Rexs and Velociraptors...and, by doing so, ruined JP.
